The Carriage House was the perfect little getaway for Tim and I - and Lynn our host was SO quick to arrange it all for us!! Nana and Papa offered to keep our babies and our fur baby too, so I got to work with searching for somewhere cute to stay, with fun things to do in the area (this was all on Friday)! On Saturday, Lynn had the place all set up and ready to go for us! Everything we could need for our stay was there - my favorite, the adorable coffee bar stocked with coffee and hot chocolate kcups, and some snacks too! This is where she also keeps some of the other items or information you might need during your stay - all so adorably labeled too!
After we stopped in at the house to drop off our things, and take some pictures and videos of everything - I made a coffee to go and we headed out to drive around town! We ended up at Ariel-Foundation Park first!

We walked around the park, and then yes, we booked it up all of those stairs to make it to the very top! It was beautiful, windy, and so worth it!! Worth it for the beautiful view, but also worth it for the delicious food and beer that awaited us that we just got our steps in for, haha! We headed to the Stein Brewing Company - amazing food and beer!! We started out with ordering fried pickles as an appetizer, very good - and a flight of 5 of their housemade beers, all very refreshing! For meals, I went with their surf and turf burger - Housemade Crab Cakes topped on their local half pound burger patty with American Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato and Old Bay Sauce on their Brioche Bun. Tim went with their three BYO Sliders - all yummy with endless combo options. You really do build them all your own, exactly how you want them! Currently they are located in Mount Vernon, OH - but they have a second location opening Spring 2022 in Newark, OH as well! So be on the lookout for a grand opening soon!

After dinner, we walked out of a different exit to leave the restaurant, and to our surprise stumbled upon an alley filled with these fun graffiti paintings!

Lynn even provides the cutest little s’mores maker, and everything you need to make your s’mores! Such a sweet touch showing just the type of host that she is! :)
We were sad to have to leave here Sunday morning… we truly could have spent the entire day here relaxing, squirrel watching, snuggled up with a book, watching our favorite shows, and sipping some coffee. You really can just let your worries melt away here because the entire place feels like a nice warm hug!
After packing up and leaving, we decided to try one more local place on our way out of town! The Everlasting Cup - a café, bakery, and restaurant all in one!
Our coffee, and food were both very yummy! Service was quick (especially for a Sunday morning - we were really impressed)! We bought a half a dozen donuts to take back to Nana and Papa as a thank you for watching all of our babies, and then we dined in with our coffee, and build your own breakfast bowls! The dining atmosphere was really nice as well with the brick and wood features throughout!

After breakfast we headed out of town, sunroof open enjoying our little taste of Spring in early March - we really did have the perfect weather for our little getaway! We will certainly be back again soon - I would love to see everything in bloom here in Mount Vernon, OH! We 100% would stay with Lynn again and highly recommend The Carriage House for your stay! :)
