SōLSTAY Lodging & Marina
2312 River Ave Sandusky, OH
Arriving to check in! Timmy snuck these pictures in of me, haha...
Such a beautiful marina! I love how they have taken the time to beautify the common space areas for entertaining! The murals that they have had painted add a personal touch to their identity here! Their big mural was painted by the nationally renown, graffiti artist, Jules Muck. We really enjoyed what we would call, "our glamping on water adventure" - it was the perfect stay for just the two of us to getaway to celebrate our anniversary, kid free!! (Thanks Nana & Papa!!) and thank you SōLSTAY for allowing us this experience of getting to feature all that you have to offer here!
From the owners,
SōLSTAY was designed to be more than a place to stay. We wanted to create a place where guests can forget about work, responsibility and structure. We’ve provided our guests with abundant options for recreation and an idyllic, lakeside setting for relaxation. We have turned a working marina into a cozy, peaceful oasis through hard work, one-of-a-kind art, and a whole lot of love.
Here's a link to some of the things you can do on the property during your stay as well!
So sweet to find this card, and some snacks when we checked in!!
Such a nice personal touch to welcome their guests!
Check out this video of some of our outdoor shots of these floating airbnbs!
Another video showing the inside of our little oasis too!
After dropping off our things and checking out our stay for the night, we headed over to Twin Oast Brewing in Port Clinton, OH! The drive is about 30 minutes from SōLSTAY Lodging & Marina - but WELL worth the trip! We LOVE Twin Oast!! Everything at Twin Oast is delicious, including the atmosphere!!

While at Twin Oast Brewing we were able to have the opportunity to be volunteers for their Quinstock Festival as well!! So much fun, and we got some free swag for it too - which included: free entry into the festival saving us $20, two $10 gift cards (1 for each of us), and two free drink tokens each for beer too!! All for only volunteering for 2 hours with parking!! They have other options available for volunteering if you don’t want to work parking - You can even be a beer pourer at their next festival!
They have their next festival coming up 9/29/23 and 9/30/23 for their Oastoberfest!!🍻 I’m bummed that we won’t be able to make this one, but don’t let that stop you from going and having a fun time - and if you volunteer, some awesome perks too!!

We had SO much fun at the Quinstock Festival sharing in Peace, Love & Happiness!
After all of our fun at Twin Oast, we decided to stop by the Marblehead Lighthouse on our way back to Sandusky! It was so peaceful coming to visit after dark… just us, the lake breeze, and the sound of the waves crashing into the rocks!
In the third picture here, I was pretending to fly, and reenact the Titanic on the famous rock ledge there - per usual, of course… haha, but Timmy took this one of me without me knowing and it turned out so cool - especially since it was completely dark here, but the phone picked up the last bits of light for a nighttime photo. You can tell the wind was picking up, and rain was headed our way. Looking like a true wild and free spirited child here!🌻✌️☮️
So many memories of coming to visit this Lighthouse growing up - to taking our babies here to visit - and now, thanks to Aunt Carolyn, Greg, Sherri and David, a brick in the pathway in memory of Grandpa and how much they loved Lake Erie and the Marblehead area too!
So very special...❤️

Once we returned back to the Sandusky area, I remembered reading another review from someone who also stayed at SōLSTAY Lodging & Marina. They had mentioned about a bar called The Cove at Louie's that had a fun outdoor area just across the street from where we were staying! I'm so glad we decided to walk over!! The drinks were yummy, and the jumbo outdoor games were so much fun!!

Waking up the next morning to the sun rising over the lake was so beautiful...
After we checked out, we headed over to the House of Donuts! We had a pick up order specifically for the Coconut cream filled, with toasted coconut on top - as well as their yummy apple filled donuts too! We HAD to make sure we had plenty of those to share with Grandma, and Nana & Papa too! SO very yummy!! We of course also saw other yummies while we were in there (for the kids... haha), and ended up with 2 dozen, and some doggy donuts to take home for our Oakley, and Nana & Papa's doggy Rudy Roo too!

As always, we enjoyed our adventures around Lake Erie - and didn't want to leave...
We'll be back again soon!!❤️
