~All the things we love~

We could go on and on about all the things we love about this new Lakeside rental... So much Lakeside charm... We just loved the decor - Kristen, your host really knows what she is doing when it comes to setting the mood and vibe just right! Everything is just so cozy and inviting! Relaxing here is no issue at all - we felt right at home!! The only issue we had is that we didn't want to leave - and we knew this would be the case yet again because our last stay in Lakeside was actually at Kristen's other rental, just next door!! So while this may be a new rental, your hosts are very experienced at providing, and ensuring that you have your best stay while staying at their rentals!

If you would like to see more about their other rental, and read about our first stay in Lakeside and all that we did - check out our other Lakeside post here:

We are so grateful and honored that Kristen asked us back to review their new rental! As we expected, we have no negative feedback here...

Everything is just so welcoming... the decor, the layout of the home, the bedding - they all bring a sense of calmness. I even jokingly told Kristen that she should add QR codes to everything! Haha, I know I certainly would be scanning and adding it all to my cart to purchase for our home!!

Book your stay, and come enjoy it all just like we did... you won't be disappointed!!

Day 1: Thursday - May 11th

We knew that Day 1 was going to be our sunny day here at Lakeside - so we planned on soaking up every minute of it outside! We started off by having our lunch picnic by the playground, and then of course playing at the playground too! We love this playground here at Lakeside - it's fun for the kids, and relaxing for Mama and Daddy too as we get to enjoy the beautiful Lake Erie views!

After we played some we decided to walk the path around Lakeside too!

We found the Lakeside Daisies while on our walk -

"The bright Lakeside daisy (Hymenoxys herbacea) is one of Ohio’s most spectacular wildflowers. This long-lived perennial grows where few others can, on nearly barren limestone rock in full sunlight. In early to mid-May, the bright yellow flowers of the Lakeside daisy adorn the otherwise bleak, sun-baked landscape of the Marblehead Quarry, the only natural population of Lakeside daisy in the US. It is a federally threatened species and has been listed as endangered in Ohio since 1980."

We also found these stones stacked along the path and water, and we all thought the balance of the stones was "so cool!"

Lakeside is just so very beautiful!

Check out our video below!

After we wore the kiddos all out at the playgrounds, and walking the beautiful path along side Lake Erie - we headed to Twin Oast Brewing for dinner and drinks! This was our first time here, but it came highly recommended by our friends - so we had to try it out! We ended up sharing some appetizers, and pizza - Tim and I shared a flight of beers too! Everything was delicious, including the atmosphere!! We definitely want to make another trip back sometime this summer to enjoy the live music they will have performing on their outdoor stage! They also have three upcoming festivals that you can check out on their website too!

Check out this beautiful sunset picture that Tim took with our drone before we left! Love it!!

After dinner we headed back to our cozy Lakeside home (for the next two nights!!) to snuggle up in the oh so cozy beds! No issues drifting off to sleep here for us, or the kids in such a peaceful environment.

Day 2: Friday - May 12th

I told our kids that this was a no kids allowed porch so Mama could drink her coffee in peace while listening to the birdies chirp, and watching for squirrels up in the trees, haha!!

My Mother's Day sweatshirt that I made for myself <3

After my morning coffee time was over, we got ready to head back over to the playgrounds in Lakeside for some more fun and relaxing near the water!

Check out these handsome guys relaxing while listening to the waves on the beach!

We had origionally planned on having lunch at Sloopy's Pizza there in Lakeside again because it was so yummy the last time that we were here - but since it was before the Lakeside season started they were sadly closed. However lucky for us they also have a shop in Port Clinton, OH too! I'm including both address below just incase your visit is out of season like ours was!

Sloopy's Pizza

With out bellies full of yummy pizza we were ready to go do some more exploring since we were in the Port Clinton area! The first place we found was this fun Lake themed playground called Lakeview Park!

All of that playing called for some ice cream to cool off!

We knew for dinner tonight we wanted to eat at Jolly Rogers Seafood House which is also in Port Clinton, OH - so instead of driving back to Lakeside - then back to Port Clinton, we decided to find yet another fun playground to kill some time! We just so happened to drive by this one, and I'm so glad we saw it! The kids loved seeing all of the fishies - and with the way that they were all coming up to the dock we were sure there had to be some food stations somewhere around there to feed them!

We were in luck!!

The coffee shop just across the way sells little baggies of fish food for only $0.25 - and they have lots of other yummy drinks and food items there too that we would have indulged in had we not just had ice cream, haha!

As I mentioned before, for dinner we ate at the Jolly Rogers Seafood House - home of Lake Erie's finest Perch and Walleye, and it was SO yummy!!

After dinner, we once again headed back to our cozy oasis in Lakeside to snuggle up for bedtime!

Day 3: Saturday - May 13th

Sadly, our checkout date had arrived... We packed up and hit the road - but not without making one more stop before we headed home... for coffee and donuts, of course!! Grandma and Grandpa strongly recommended this donut shop to us, so we had to stop and try it out, and we even took some to go with us and made a stop to visit with Grandma and Grandpa on our way home too!

We enjoyed our little getaway to Lakeside once again - it was the perfect mix of relaxing and exploring with our kiddos, and all that I wanted to celebrate Mother's Day!!
