The Huffman House: Historic & Family Owned!
Click here to book your stay:
Straight from your hosts:
The Huffman House has been in our family for three generations, dating back to when my Grandpa bought the house from the Root family.
You're not staying in an investment property, this home is our family home and has been for over 50 years. We want to share the wonderful amenities and character of the 3000+sqft home with you while we are away. Located right next to Root candles and the square. With an Office, Laundry room, Coffee bar and Private balcony...welcome home and to historic Medina!
Check out our video walk through below:
The Huffman House has so much character and historic charm to offer, and the natural lighting coming in through all of the windows really helps to show it all off! Absolutely beautiful... and so much space! This home is perfect for family gatherings! I would recommend planning ahead and booking a trip here for your family, or a group of friends before the Holiday season! Medina is beautiful all year round, but we love to visit right before the Holidays because it adds to the excitement when we visit Castle Noel (read more about this Christmas Museum below)!
We are so appreciative that we had the opportunity to get to stay here at The Huffman House and experience all that it has to offer during our visit to the historic Medina, OH.
Day 1 - Friday, November 4th:
We didn't arrive to the Medina, OH area till closer to 8pm as the kiddos all had school this day, and we needed to wait for them to get off the bus in order to be able to hit the road! Since we ended up getting into town late, we didn't do much other than getting in to take our pictures and videos of the home - and then we all had a late dinner that we ordered out from Diner 42!

Day 2 - Saturday, November 5th:

First up, coffee!! Our coffee shop of choice was the Cool Beans Café, and everything was delicious!! We ordered coffees, smoothies, and all kinds of different bakery items to go for our breakfast back at the house! We all shared and tried a little bit of everything - so yummy, and we even had some leftovers for Sunday morning too!

The kids loved this little breakfast nook between the dining room area and the kitchen! They felt like it was their own special kids table just for them - they even convinced big Sissy that she had to sit there too, haha! It is so nice that this area is in addition to the big dining room table - plenty of room for everyone when planning your stay! Your host also provides the kids cups, and plates that you see pictured here, a nice touch when traveling with littles!
For lunch we met up with friends at one of their favorite spots, Yours Truly. Everything was so yummy! I would definitely recommend it as a great brunch spot as they have amazing breakfast entrees, as well as many great lunch options too!

After lunch, Tim had to get ready to go and judge for the Medina High school OMEA marching band competition - he was their percussion adjudicator for the evening! While Daddy was away, we went to play at the local playground only a few minutes away from the Huffman House! Such a great playground, and with a doggy park, and a pool when in season right next to it too!

After picking Tim up from the OMEA marching band competition, we picked up our pizza that we had ordered to go from the Courthouse Pizzeria in town! It was so yummy!! We went with a pepperoni, and one of their specialty buffalo chicken pizzas too! Something that we thought was really neat too is that they offer take, make, and bake kits as well which includes your dough ball, sauce, and cheese! This would make for a great last minute family night of getting to make your own pizza together without the hassle of needing to make your own pizza dough ahead of time! I would recommend a movie night to follow, and for dessert with your movie, grab some popcorn from Something's Popping (see below for their info) in town too when you pick up your pizza kit!

Day 3 - Sunday, November 6th:
As I said previously, anytime we are in Medina, OH before the Holidays (though it is open year round) we must stop in and take a tour of Castle Noel! It is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season, and we love updating our Christmas Story slide pictures each time we go too! So much to see, and so much Christmas magic to experience here! If you have the time to make the 30 minute drive over to Cleveland, OH - the Christmas Story house and museum is also worth a visit! We didn't make the drive over this time, but I'll include the address and info below as well!

Before we made our way back home, we stopped into Something's Popping for some car ride snacks! We are so glad we did because everything was so tasty! Not only did we pick up some goodies for ourselves, we were able to pick up a big variety tin for our Grandpa's birthday too! They conveniently had sports tins available for our browns fan too - he was so happy! If popcorn isn't your thing though, they also have all sorts of candies, and fudge available too!
